Sandu: A special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine has been established
Brussels, May 15 (Hibya) - Moldovan President Maia Sandu announced that they contributed to the establishment of a special tribunal that will prosecute the crime of aggression against Ukraine during Moldova’s presidency of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers.
Moldovan President Sandu announced that 36 countries and the European Union had reached an agreement on establishing a special international tribunal for the “crime of aggression” committed against Ukraine.
Sandu stated that it was important for Moldova to contribute to the advancement of this process during its presidency of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers. The process was described as “a historic step” in terms of enforcing international law and ensuring accountability for those responsible.
The planned mechanism is expected to play a central role in international efforts to prosecute crimes of aggression against Ukraine.
