Aliyev attends the Informal Summit of OTS Heads of State
Turkistan, May 15 (Hibya) - At the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Turkistan, leaders delivered messages on strengthening cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, the Middle Corridor, and joint development projects.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also attended the Informal Summit of the Heads of State of the OTS held in the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan. In his speech during the summit, President Aliyev stated that relations among Turkic states are becoming increasingly deeper, emphasizing that especially in recent years, through mutual visits and signed strategic agreements, cooperation has been elevated to the level of alliance.
Aliyev stressed that the international influence of the Organization of Turkic States is increasing and said that digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies have become fundamental elements of the new global order. Stating that Turkic states should assume a leading role in this process, Aliyev drew attention to the digital governance and artificial intelligence-focused institutions established in Azerbaijan.
In his speech, Aliyev also touched upon transportation and energy routes, noting that the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor is increasing and that the Zangezur Corridor will become an important part of this route. He also recalled that trade among Turkic states has been facilitated through the digitalization of customs procedures and applications such as the “e-Permit” system.
As part of the summit, the leaders participated online in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Turkic Civilization Center, while “GovTech” digital solutions were also introduced. The project aims to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples and strengthen a common civilization perspective.
