Zelensky: We strongly want Russia's war against Ukraine to end
Kyiv, April 9 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the ceasefire achieved in the Middle East would not disrupt support for Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made assessments regarding the effects of developments in the Middle East on Ukraine and the ceasefire declared in the region.
Expressing his confidence that the ceasefire would not affect aid to Ukraine, Zelensky said, "If a ceasefire in the Middle East holds, there will be no crisis in providing support to Ukraine. Of course, that is what we hope for. We also strongly want Russia's war against Ukraine to end."
Emphasizing that a starting point is needed for the war to end, Zelensky said, "At the very least, we need to take the first step – a ceasefire. I have always said this: we need to start from here. But we were told and signaled that no – the war can only be ended once and for all; a ceasefire achieves nothing. But I think it works."
Zelensky stated that the situation in the Middle East is proof from the perspective of global diplomacy, saying, "The Middle East example now clearly shows that a ceasefire is possible. The United States has enough power to make it happen."
