U.S. Ambassador to Ankara and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack spoke about the process of change in the region after hosting Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Hassan Al-Shaibani.

Stating that he was honored by the new diplomatic process with Syria, Barrack said, "It was an honor to host Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Hassan Al-Shaibani. At a time when much of the region is defined by uncertainty, Syria’s story stands apart from the others."

Drawing attention to President Trump’s vision for Syria and his leadership impact, Barrack said, "President Trump recognized early on that Syria is not a problem to be managed, but an opportunity to be seized."

Barrack added, "The developments are not accidental; they are the result of strong leadership, bold regional realignment, event-driven diplomacy, and an unconventional approach that has traditionally been overlooked."
