Sharif: I strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression against Lebanon
Islamabad, April 9 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a meeting with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, condemned Israel’s attacks on Lebanon and stated that Pakistan will continue its dialogue efforts to establish peace in the region.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a statement regarding the content of his phone call with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and regional peace initiatives.
Expressing his stance on the attacks and offering condolences, Sharif said: “This evening I spoke with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. I strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression against Lebanon and extended my condolences for the loss of thousands of precious lives in Lebanon as a result of these conflicts.”
Referring to Pakistan’s mediation role and peace efforts, Sharif stated: “I reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing peace efforts, including facilitating dialogue through the upcoming Iran-U.S. talks in Islamabad.”
Sharif concluded: “I am grateful to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam for appreciating our peace efforts and emphasizing the need for our continued support to ensure the immediate cessation of attacks targeting Lebanon and its people.”
