Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that they welcome the peace agreement announced between the United States and Iran.

Sanchez stated that the conflict has caused a heavy human and economic toll, drawing attention to the impact of the war with the words: “More than 7,400 dead, most of them civilians; hundreds of homes, schools, and hospitals destroyed.”

In his statement, Sanchez said that he hopes the agreement will bring this devastating process to an end, adding that it should be implemented by all parties and could represent the beginning of a new era in the Middle East.

Sanchez also said, “War is a failure; dialogue and diplomacy are the only way.”
