Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten discussed regional security, support for Ukraine, and digital cooperation during his bilateral meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis.

Drawing attention to the relations between the two countries and their security cooperation, Jetten said, “The bond between the Netherlands and Estonia is excellent. This country on Europe’s eastern border is an important partner both in bilateral relations and within the framework of the EU and NATO when it comes to democratic values and European security.”

Emphasizing their shared stance on regional threats and Ukraine, Jetten said, “The threat coming from Russia is felt every day in Estonia. We discussed the necessity of supporting Ukraine and keeping the pressure on Russia high. I underlined the Netherlands’ lasting commitment to protecting Europe’s eastern flank.”

Referring also to technological cooperation, Jetten concluded his statement by saying, “In the field of digitalization, Estonia sets an example for the Netherlands; we will continue our close cooperation in this area as well.”
