U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, in his speech, drew attention to the nation’s debt of gratitude toward military personnel who lost their lives.
Referring to the importance of the memorial ceremony, Hegseth said, “Today, with this humble ceremony, we owe them at least this: with every salute, at every ceremony... every day and every year, we remember them.”
Stating that preserving the legacy of soldiers is a social responsibility, Hegseth said, “Through our remembrance, we preserve the eternal flame they lit with the price of their youth.”
