Lahbib: EU teams are supporting efforts to combat wildfires in France
Brussels, July 7 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib announced that teams from Sweden, Cyprus, Romania, Italy, and Greece are supporting wildfire response efforts in France.
The European Union is providing support for efforts to combat the wildfires affecting France.
In a post on social media, European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib said that rescEU aircraft deployed from Sweden and Cyprus, along with pre-positioned teams from Romania, Italy, and Greece, are operating in France.
Lahbib stated that these teams are assisting firefighting operations aimed at bringing the numerous wildfires affecting several regions of the country under control.
She added that personnel and equipment support from different countries continues under the EU's disaster solidarity mechanisms.
