Sanchez: Rights are not restricted, they are defended
Madrid, July 7 (Hibya) - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez defended workers' rights in response to remarks proposing a reduction in the wages of employees on sick leave.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez reacted to statements proposing that the salaries of sick employees should be reduced.
Sanchez said that views describing labor absenteeism as "cancer" and advocating lower pay for sick workers clearly show which side those making such remarks are on.
Stressing that the government stands with workers, Sanchez said people who get up early to go to work, do their jobs, and deserve protection when they experience health problems should be supported.
Emphasizing that workers' rights cannot be restricted, Sanchez said, "Rights are not restricted. They are defended."
