Costa: The conflict in the Middle East has a grave economic impact
Brussels, April 23 (Hibya) - European Council President Antonio Costa made statements regarding the negative effects of escalating tensions in the Middle East on the European economy.
European Council President Antonio Costa called for a transition to ensure energy independence.
Expressing his concerns about the economic outlook, Costa said, “The conflict in the Middle East has a grave economic impact. We must deal with the real-life consequences of this crisis and support the most vulnerable citizens and companies facing rising energy prices.”
Summarizing the roadmap for Europe’s future, Costa stated, “Looking ahead, there is only one strategic path for Europe: to accelerate our energy transition and increase the use of domestic, clean, and affordable energy sources.”
Costa concluded his statement by saying, “This is the only way to reduce dependencies and ensure our energy security.”
