Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a statement on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and the country’s independence are shaped by the daily efforts of everyone who defends it and contributes to keeping it strong.

Pointing to the importance of remembering the price paid for freedom, Zelenskyy said everyone who has fought and continues to fight for Ukraine should be honored.

Zelenskyy said they jointly honored the memory of the fallen heroes at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv, expressing his gratitude and respect to those who lost their lives while defending their country.
