Tallinn, August 24 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna expressed support for the Ukrainian people in a statement marking Ukraine's Independence Day.

Tsahkna said Estonia's support for Ukraine is unwavering, emphasizing the country's struggle to defend its sovereignty and future.
Tsahkna commented on the traditional symbolic flag-lowering ceremony held in front of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's declaration of independence.
Recalling that Ukraine declared its independence 35 years ago, Tsahkna said independence is not merely a date on the calendar.
Tsahkna said Ukrainians demonstrate their independence every day by defending their sovereignty, borders and future. He said Ukraine's ability not only to resist Russian aggression but also to adapt to changing circumstances, innovate and turn the strategic initiative in its favor provides a powerful example for Europe as well.
Emphasizing that Estonia will continue to support Ukraine in every field, Tsahkna said they would continue contributing to the advancement of Ukraine's integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
Tsahkna also said they would support the building of a resilient and democratic Ukraine, delivering the message: “No matter how long it takes, we stand with you.”
The Estonian Foreign Minister concluded his statement with the words: “Slava Ukraini!”
