US Central Command: Our forces remain in the Strait of Hormuz region
Washington, October 27 (Hibya) - US Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected a claim by the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy that US forces had withdrawn from the Strait of Hormuz. The statement emphasized that US forces continue to maintain their presence in the region and surrounding waters.
In a statement, CENTCOM said that the claim that US forces had moved hundreds of kilometers away from the Strait of Hormuz was false. The statement noted that remarks by the commander of US Central Command regarding his presence in the region over the weekend also demonstrated this.
CENTCOM stated that US forces and their regional partners continue to maintain control of the international waterway, rejecting the claim that the Strait of Hormuz is under Iranian control.
