Sybiha: UNSC to hold meeting under Arria formula
Kyiv, August 10 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will meet to discuss Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilian detainees held by Russia.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha shared details of the meeting the UNSC will hold under the Arria formula and the issues to be addressed.
Providing information on the timing and format of the meeting, Sybiha said: “Today, August 10, at 5:00 p.m. Kyiv time, the UN Security Council will hold an Arria-formula meeting on Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilian detainees held by Russia.”
Referring to the evidence to be presented at the meeting and expectations from the international community, Sybiha said: “First-hand testimonies will highlight the systematic torture and ill-treatment Ukrainians endure in Russian captivity, as well as the urgent need for international access, an end to ill-treatment, accountability, and the return of all those unlawfully detained.”
