Stubb: Ukraine's air defense needs to be strengthened
Helsinki, August 5 (Hibya) – Finnish President Alexander Stubb reaffirmed Finland's support for Ukraine during a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying his country would continue working toward a lasting and just peace.

Stubb said Russia had carried out large-scale overnight attacks against civilian targets in Ukraine and reiterated Finland's strong support for Ukraine.
Emphasizing the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense system, Stubb added that the latest developments in the peace negotiations were also discussed during the call.
Stubb noted that Ukraine has long stated its readiness for a ceasefire and peace talks, while Russia has not demonstrated a similar position.
Stubb said, "We will continue our efforts toward a lasting and just peace."
