Rubio: The U.S. is hunting the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion
Washington, August 5 (Hibya) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement on the fight against the Mexico-based criminal organization Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion and the new measures taken against it.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the United States' determination to combat the cartel, as well as new rewards and visa restrictions introduced as part of that effort.
Emphasizing the measures aimed at dismantling the cartel, Rubio said: "The United States is hunting, dismantling, and destroying the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion."
Rubio stated that rewards totaling more than $100 million are being offered for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the cartel's leaders and associates.
Providing details on sanctions and visa actions, Rubio concluded: "We are also imposing visa restrictions on 65 individuals and revoking 26 visas belonging to family members and associates of people linked to the cartel."
