US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in his message marking India’s Independence Day, emphasized the depth of bilateral relations between Washington and New Delhi and noted that areas of cooperation are expanding.

Extending his congratulations and referring to the dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, Rubio said, “On behalf of the United States, I warmly congratulate the people of India on their Independence Day. Thanks to the personal relationship between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi, the US-India relationship continues to grow and is stronger than ever.”

Listing the areas of strategic cooperation, Secretary Rubio said, “From defense and energy security to critical minerals, artificial intelligence, space cooperation and trade, our cooperation is making both of our nations and the broader Indian Ocean region safer, stronger and more prosperous.”

Emphasizing the importance of ties between the two societies, Rubio said, “The deep friendship and family ties between our two peoples form the foundation of an innovative, resilient and forward-looking partnership. The United States looks forward to the future that our two countries will build together.”
