Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended his best wishes to US President Donald Trump, his family and the American people on the occasion of the Jewish New Year. Netanyahu said significant developments had taken place between the United States and Israel over the past year.

Netanyahu said: “Over the past year, the United States and Israel together have made historic progress. Iran and its malign axis are weaker than ever, while the US-Israel alliance is stronger than ever.”

Praising Trump’s policies toward Iran, Netanyahu said: “I congratulate President Trump for the blockade he has imposed on the Iranian regime and for the economic pressure on the world’s greatest source of instability.”

Netanyahu said the people of Israel stand with the American people and Trump in the fight against terrorism, adding that they would continue working in the new year to make the world safer for everyone.
