Mucunski: The EU enlargement process should be open and predictable
Budapest, March 10 (Hibya) - North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Timco Mucunski reiterated his country’s goal of integration into the European Union and said the enlargement process should be clearer and more reliable.
North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mucunski delivered a speech at the Budapest Balkans Forum 2026.
Emphasizing that governments must adapt quickly and act jointly during a period of increasing security and geopolitical challenges, Mucunski said: "I reaffirmed our country's strong pro-European orientation, the continuation of reform efforts, and full alignment with the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy. At the same time, I expressed our expectation that the enlargement process should be open, reliable, and predictable."
Mucunski also touched upon regional transportation projects, noting that transport corridors No. 8 and No. 10 have strategic importance for security and trade, and highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership with Hungary.
