French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Nizar Amedi, who took office following the election process in Iraq, and reiterated the message of partnership between the two countries.

Wishing him success in the new term, Macron said: “I extend my warmest congratulations on the election of Nizar Amedi as President of the Republic of Iraq.”

Drawing attention to the importance of regional stability, Macron stated: “Iraq’s stability, the continuity of its institutions, and the full exercise of state sovereignty are more necessary than ever for the country and the region. France stands by its Iraqi partner.”
