Kallas: International law faces two major crises
New York, April 13 (Hibya) – European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas stated that global crises point to a new world order.
European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas delivered a speech at the United Nations Security Council.
Kallas said that international law is facing two major crises, stating: “Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and the war in the Middle East clearly demonstrate this.”
Kallas added: “A new world is now taking shape; an order characterized by competition and coercive power politics is emerging.”
Referring to the importance of the EU’s support at the United Nations, Kallas emphasized that this support is more critical than ever.
