Iranian delegation in Islamabad for talks with the United States
Islamabad, April 11 (Hibya) – An Iranian delegation has arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, for critical talks regarding ongoing tensions and the ceasefire process between Iran and the United States.
According to a report by the English-language service of China Central Television (CCTV), China Global Television Network (CGTN), the Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad as part of negotiations concerning the ongoing conflict and the fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States. The talks are said to be part of diplomatic efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire and end hostilities in the region.
It was stated that the Iranian delegation is headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, while the US side is represented by Vice President JD Vance. The parties are expected to negotiate to make the previously announced two-week ceasefire permanent.
It was reported that US President Donald Trump indicated that tougher measures could be taken if the talks fail to yield results, while the Iranian side has put forward certain conditions ahead of the negotiations. These include preventing the expansion of the conflict in the region and the release of frozen Iranian assets.
The talks, conducted with Pakistan’s mediation, are considered critical for the diplomatic process initiated after the escalation of the crisis in February, which pushed the region toward a large-scale conflict.
