According to CCTV, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected claims that direct negotiations were taking place with the United States (US), saying formal talks could not begin until Washington stops violating the terms of the interim agreement signed in June.

Speaking to journalists in Tehran, Araghchi said the two countries were only exchanging messages through mediators, adding that this could not be described as "negotiations."

The Iranian minister said the groundwork for negotiations could be established if the US ends its violations of the agreement.

Iran is demanding that Washington meet a series of conditions for the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which is critically important for global energy and trade.

Tehran is demanding compensation for war damages, the release of Iran's frozen assets and an end to attacks against Iran and its allies in the region.

Araghchi also confirmed that Iran and Oman were close to reaching an agreement on new routes to regulate shipping traffic through the strait. However, Tehran reiterated that the strait would not be fully reopened unless the US changes its position.

US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, signaled that he was prepared to increase economic pressure on Iran rather than launch another military attack. Washington maintains that previous strikes were intended to prevent Iranian interference with ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to assessments citing US officials, Trump is reportedly considering declaring "victory" in the conflict if the Strait of Hormuz is reopened.

However, Iran's increasing demands are making it more difficult for Washington to conclude the process and declare victory without reaching a nuclear agreement.
