CENTCOM rejects claims that Iran fired on U.S. ships
Washington, June 5 (Hibya) - The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that claims alleging Iran fired warning shots at U.S. warships in the Gulf of Oman and forced them to retreat do not reflect the facts.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) denied claims that warning shots had been fired at U.S. warships.
In a statement released by CENTCOM, it was noted that Iranian forces had not carried out any attack against or opened fire on U.S. Navy warships.
Emphasizing that such an action would constitute a serious violation of the current ceasefire, the command stated that U.S. forces continue to operate freely in regional waters and fully maintain the blockade imposed on Iran.
