Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese held a meeting with Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

Albanese stated that cross-border cooperation is more important than ever at a time of increasing global uncertainty, noting that they discussed the importance of regional cooperation with Thailand to strengthen security and prosperity.

Albanese said that efforts to develop economic relations and enhance cooperation in defense and security were also discussed during the meeting. “We assessed the importance of ongoing regional cooperation for the security and prosperity of both countries,” he said.

Emphasizing that they will continue joint efforts to strengthen relations between Australia and Thailand, Albanese added: “I look forward to continuing to work together to further strengthen Australia-Thailand relations.”
