Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attended a memorial ceremony and paid tribute to the fighters who were killed in the village of Moshchun, which played a key role in the defense of Kyiv.

Zelensky stated that honoring the heroes who sacrificed their lives to protect the region and the state is a moral responsibility, saying: “It is both important and right to honor the heroes who defended the Kyiv region and our entire state. We remember our fighters for their heroism and courage, and we will always be grateful to them.”

Emphasizing the value of their sacrifice for Ukraine’s future, Zelensky said: “They achieved the most important thing: they gave our children the chance to live in a free Ukraine.”

Continuing his speech, Zelensky expressed his belief that this struggle can only be crowned with a just peace: “We continue to fight for a just end to this war.”
