In a statement, the US Department of Defense said that an operation was conducted against the stateless vessel M/T Majestic K carrying Iranian oil.

The statement said, “A maritime interdiction and boarding operation was carried out in the Indian Ocean.”

It was also emphasized that “actors engaged in illegal activities cannot use international waters as a safe haven, and such activities will continue to be prevented.”

The statement noted that operations will continue, adding that “efforts will persist to stop illegal activities at sea and cut off the revenues generated from them.”
