Tsahkna: Blue and yellow are symbols of a free Ukraine
Tallinn, August 23 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna issued a message on Ukraine’s independence and freedom on the occasion of Ukraine’s National Flag Day.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that when he was in the Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr last January, the country’s blue and yellow flag was flying proudly despite harsh winter conditions.
Tsahkna said that for the Ukrainian people, blue and yellow represent “home, freedom and the right to determine their own future,” noting that around the world these colors have also become the symbol of a nation that refuses to give up its freedom and its right to exist.
Tsahkna said, “May blue and yellow always fly proudly over a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.”
