Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made a statement on the health condition of former Italian lawmaker Alessandro Di Battista, who was hospitalized in Havana, the capital of Cuba.

Tajani said: “Since tonight, I have been in contact with the Italian Embassy in Cuba to make sure of Alessandro Di Battista’s condition; he is in a hospital in Havana, where he was admitted for diagnostic tests during his trip. I am praying for his health. The Foreign Ministry will provide him and his family with all the necessary assistance.”

Tajani also sent a message of support to Di Battista’s loved ones and the political community he represents, saying: “I am close to his loved ones and to the political community he represents.”
