Sanchez: Lebanon’s sovereignty must be respected
Madrid, April 6 (Hibya) - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez emphasized his support for Lebanon's territorial integrity during a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez held talks with his Lebanese counterpart Nawaf Salam regarding the situation in Lebanon.
Referring to Lebanon’s position in the current conflicts and its sovereign rights, Sanchez said: "Lebanon did not choose this war, and its sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected. I have just spoken with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to convey Spain's support and solidarity."
Highlighting the importance and security of the United Nations mission in the region, Prime Minister Sanchez concluded: "Spanish troops in UNIFIL are doing commendable work. Attacks against the United Nations peacekeeping mission are unacceptable and must stop immediately."
