Russia reports capture of a settlement in the Kharkiv region
Moscow, July 8 (Hibya) - As fighting between Russia and Ukraine intensified in the Kharkiv region, both sides issued statements regarding their latest military operations.
According to CCTV, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that units of the Northern Group of Forces had taken control of the settlement of Petro-Ivanovka (Petro-Ivanivka) in the Kharkiv region.
The ministry also reported that over the past 24 hours, air and artillery strikes had been carried out against Ukrainian port infrastructure, energy facilities, logistics centers, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries.
It was further announced that Russian air defense systems had intercepted two Neptune long-range guided missiles and 797 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), while the Black Sea Fleet destroyed six Ukrainian unmanned surface vessels.
On the same day, the Ukrainian side stated that Russian military-industrial facilities had been targeted. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that, as of 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Russian forces had launched a total of 88 attacks against Ukrainian positions.
The statement added that Ukrainian forces had successfully repelled numerous Russian assaults along the Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk, and Lyman axes, maintaining control of their defensive positions.
