Rubio: Convicted Lao national deported
Washington, July 10 (Hibya) - United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Lao national Tou Lue Vang, who was convicted of sexual abuse, was deported from the country after his legal status was revoked.
United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Lao national Tou Lue Vang, who was convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in the state of Minnesota, had been deported from the United States.
Rubio claimed that Vang had previously been scheduled for deportation, but the process did not take place because of a pardon granted by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
In his statement, Rubio said that he later revoked Vang's legal status and that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) removed him from the country. He added that Vang would not be allowed to return to the United States.
