Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot shared details of the accident, stating, “A tragic collision occurred this morning in Buggenhout between a train and a school bus. Four people, including two children, lost their lives.”

Thanking the international community for messages of support and sharing the pain of the victims’ relatives, Minister Prevot said, “I would like to thank my colleagues from other countries who have already stepped forward to express their solidarity, and of course, I extend my condolences to the families of the victims.”

At the end of his message, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot also referred to the teams responding to the accident, saying, “My thoughts are with them and with the emergency service teams who had to deal with this painful event.”
