Lisbon, June 1 (Hibya) - The Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the intensification of Israel’s military operations in Lebanon.

The statement emphasized that, as Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel also stressed during his visit to Beirut, it is critical that the attacks cease and that the ceasefire be fully implemented.
The Portuguese government stated that it systematically condemns Hezbollah’s activities and appreciates the efforts of the Lebanese government to counter those activities.
It was also noted that Portugal supports the continuation of ongoing negotiations and the establishment of a lasting ceasefire.
The statement further highlighted Portugal’s support for the Lebanese Armed Forces and emphasized the importance of ensuring the security of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission.
