According to CCTV, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran cannot be forced to surrender and reiterated his country's determination to continue diplomatic dialogue to protect its rights and national security.

In a televised address reviewing his second year in office, Pezeshkian defended Iran's decision to enter negotiations with the United States and sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the war.

Under the MoU signed by Iran and the United States in June, the two sides were expected to hold negotiations over a 60-day period with the aim of reaching a final agreement.

Pezeshkian argued that Iran made no concessions during talks on the ceasefire arrangement and said the agreement had initially been expected to be signed by the United States.

He claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump took steps to comply with the agreement, but that the U.S. side completely changed its position in less than 24 hours.

Pezeshkian said Iran would continue to abide by its obligations as long as the United States fulfilled its commitments under the MoU, adding, "When they cannot fulfill their commitments, we have no obligation to continue."

Commenting on diplomacy with European countries, the Iranian president claimed that Iran had reached an agreement with France during negotiations aimed at preventing the activation of the snapback mechanism, but that the United States did not allow it to proceed.

Pezeshkian argued that Europe does not have sufficient authority to make independent decisions.

He also addressed Iran's relations with neighboring countries, claiming that the United States and Israel sought during the recent clashes to damage relations between Iran and other Persian Gulf countries.

Pezeshkian stressed that Iran has no intention of attacking other countries, seizing their territory, or expanding its borders, but said his country would firmly defend its national sovereignty and security.

Pezeshkian said the U.S. military used bases in regional countries during attacks on Iran and argued that Iran was forced to defend itself. He called on Islamic countries to strengthen solidarity and mutual trust.

Pezeshkian also rejected claims of disagreements between the government and the armed forces.

He said the government, parliament, judiciary, and armed forces were acting in coordination, adding that this common position had disproved predictions by foreign adversaries that Iran's government would collapse.

Pezeshkian also denied rumors that he was considering resigning, saying he would not stop serving his people.
