Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister held talks in Islamabad with Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman.
The minister stated that the high-level visit from Croatia, the first in a long time, marked an important milestone in bilateral relations and expressed the hope that the current atmosphere of goodwill would be reinforced through more frequent high-level contacts.
It was reported that the talks covered opportunities for cooperation in a wide range of areas, including trade, investment, development, agriculture, labor mobility, visa facilitation, education, defense, climate change, tourism, infrastructure, information technology, and port cooperation.
The parties also agreed on the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Political Consultations between their foreign ministries and on maintaining a regular political consultation mechanism. The first round of political consultations is planned for the last quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027.
The statement noted that the current trade volume between the two countries remains below its potential and that increasing contacts between their business communities, as well as organizing a future business forum bringing together private sector representatives from both countries, was discussed as a means of revitalizing economic relations.
The Pakistani side also expressed satisfaction with the activities of Croatian companies in the country and invited Croatian investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Pakistan.
