Netanyahu: We captured Beaufort Castle and will restore security
Jerusalem, May 31 (Hibya) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Beaufort Castle had been captured by Israeli forces and that security operations along the northern border would be expanded.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made statements regarding Israeli military operations along the Lebanese border.
Netanyahu said Israeli soldiers had taken control of Beaufort Castle and that the Israeli flag and the Golani Brigade flag had been raised again in the area.
Netanyahu said, "Let me remind you that 44 years ago this place was a symbol of our fighters' heroic struggle, but it was also a symbol of the deep division among us."
In his statement, Netanyahu also referred to operations against Hezbollah, claiming that a large number of militants had been neutralized.
Netanyahu stated that he had instructed the Israeli military to expand operations in Lebanon and noted that strategic points along the Litani River line and surrounding areas had been brought under control.
Netanyahu said: "On Friday, I spoke with brigade commanders. Brave brigade commanders who are leading heroic soldiers inside the area. They told me: 'Prime Minister, we are carrying out the mission. We are pushing forward – and Hezbollah is fleeing to save its life.' I told them: 'I am with you. The entire people of Israel are with you. It will take more time, but we will restore security to the residents of the North, just as we did for the residents of the South.' It will take time, but we will complete the mission."
