Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement posted on his social media account that they did not want the government to depend on the Ra'am and Joint List parties. Netanyahu accused the parties of supporting terrorism and rejecting the existence of the Jewish state.

Noting that they had made efforts from the first day to form a broad-based national government, Netanyahu said, "A clear majority of the Jewish public chose Likud as the largest party and chose me as prime minister to lead the next government."

Regarding his goals for forming a government, Netanyahu stated, "We aim to form a broad-based government with our partners and every party that does not support terrorism. I am open to dialogue on this matter."
