Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made a statement regarding the incidents that occurred at the military base in Erbil and the situation of Italian troops in the region.

Meloni stated that she is managing the process in coordination with cabinet members, saying, "I continue to closely follow the events at our base in Erbil and I am in constant contact with Ministers Tajani and Crosetto to monitor the situation."

Expressing her support for the soldiers, Meloni said, "On behalf of the government and personally, I extend my solidarity and condolences to our soldiers who were not harmed in the attack."

Meloni drew attention to the role of the Italian army in international missions, stating, "Italy is proud of the courage and professionalism they demonstrate daily for peace and security in many crisis regions."
