Lula da Silva in Germany
Berlin, April 18 (Hibya) – Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will attend the opening of the Hannover Fair, meet Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and hold talks aimed at increasing economic cooperation during his visit to Germany.
Lula da Silva traveled to Germany for official engagements. It was announced that he will take part in a busy schedule, including a private meeting with German Chancellor Merz.
Among the highlights of the program is the opening of the Hannover Fair, one of the world’s largest industrial events. Brazil, the official partner country this year, will be represented with more than 300 companies in national pavilions.
The visit marks the second stop of Lula da Silva’s European tour, with talks focusing on increasing investments and enhancing cooperation in areas such as sustainability, artificial intelligence, and clean energy.
Lula da Silva is also expected to attend the Third Intergovernmental High-Level Consultation Meeting, a key platform of the strategic partnership between Germany and Brazil, as well as the 42nd Economic Meeting between the two countries.
Germany, Europe’s largest economy and one of the world’s leading economic powers, is Brazil’s fourth-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching 20.9 billion dollars last year.
It was also noted that Germany strongly supports the Mercosur-European Union Agreement, expected to strengthen trade relations between the two regions, and that the agreement will enter into force on May 1.
