Lula: 96-vessel shipbuilding program launched in Brazil
Brasília, June 26 (Hibya) – Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced investments under Petrobras' Offshore Program during his visit to the Detroit Shipyard in Itajaí.

Lula said that 42 new vessels will be built in the state of Santa Catarina under Petrobras' Offshore Program, creating more than 5,000 direct jobs. He added that a total of 96 vessels are planned to be built nationwide by 2032, with investments of approximately 32 billion Brazilian reais.
Lula emphasized that the program includes support vessels for oil and natural gas operations as well as the renewal of the Transpetro fleet. He noted that shipbuilding projects will be required to have at least 40 percent local content and that advanced technologies will help reduce emissions and contribute to the energy transition.
