Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas made a statement regarding the situation in Iran and its global repercussions following a phone call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Referring to the scope of the discussion, Kallas said: "Today I had a phone call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss the situation in Iran and its impact on the global economy and energy security. We also addressed EU-China relations."

Drawing attention to the critical situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Kallas stated: "Iran’s attacks on civilian vessels and the threat of further attacks have nearly brought traffic in the Strait of Hormuz to a standstill. Therefore, restoring safe and free navigation in the Strait in accordance with the Law of the Sea is an urgent priority."

Regarding the EU’s position, Kallas added: "The EU supports all diplomatic efforts to achieve this goal and calls for de-escalation and restraint. Attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure must end."
