IDF operation in Qalqilya: Suspect linked to attack captured
Qalqilya, May 26 (Hibya) - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that a suspect allegedly linked to the 2007 shooting attack was captured during a joint operation coordinated with Shin Bet and the Efraim Brigade in Qalqilya.
A joint operation was carried out by the Gideons 33 Unit under the command of the IDF, Shin Bet, and the Efraim Brigade.
According to the statement, Shadi Jema, who was allegedly connected to the shooting attack carried out in the village of Funduk on November 19, 2007, in which Idan Zoldan was killed, was captured during the operation in downtown Qalqilya.
The statement noted that the suspect had recently been released from Palestinian Authority custody and was apprehended after being located hiding in Qalqilya.
It was also reported that the suspect was transferred to the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) for questioning.
Security forces stated that “operations aimed at preventing terrorist activities in the region will continue.”
