The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that there has recently been an increase in attempts by Israeli citizens to cross the Syrian border, adding that the situation is disrupting military operations and jeopardizing security.

According to the statement, a group of Israeli citizens crossed into Syrian territory from the Majdal Shams area last night. Following search operations carried out by IDF forces, the individuals were located in the border area, detained, and handed over to the Israel Police for legal proceedings.

It was also reported that, earlier the same day, another group attempting to cross into Syria from the southern Golan Heights border area was intercepted by military forces and transferred to the police.
