IDF eliminates artillery commander of "Imam Hussein" division
Tel Aviv, April 6 (Hibya) - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that several figures, including the artillery commander and the deputy division commander, were killed in an operation targeting the fire control headquarters of the "Imam Hussein" division.
The IDF shared details about the air operation carried out yesterday.
According to the statement: "The Israel Defense Forces struck the main headquarters responsible for fire control of the 'Imam Hussein' division and eliminated the organization's artillery commander, terrorist Kamal Melhem, the deputy division commander Yahya Hussein, and other terrorists."
The statement noted that Melhem managed and developed artillery fire plans targeting the territory of the State of Israel and its forces. He also served as a central information hub and acted as the division's central commander, while being involved in weapons procurement and serving as chief of staff to the division commander.
The IDF emphasized the strategic importance of the division, stating that the "Imam Hussein" Division is a military force used by the Quds Force to strengthen the "axis of resistance" and carry out plans against the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli civilians.
