Guterres: Without international law, instability spreads
New York, April 15 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed that international law is not an option but a necessity at a time of increasing global power competition.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres addressed the global risks arising from the weakening of the rule of law amid growing polarization worldwide.
Highlighting the importance of the legal framework, Guterres said: "In a world moving toward greater fragmentation and sharper power competition, international law is indispensable."

Emphasizing urgency for the Middle East, Guterres said: "This applies everywhere and is urgently relevant for the conflict in the Middle East."
