Guterres: I condemn the attack on a peacekeeper in Lebanon
New York, June 4 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the killing of a Serbian UNIFIL peacekeeper in Lebanon.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres drew attention to the threat that escalating violence poses to the peacekeeping mission in the region.
Referring to the losses caused by the escalation of the conflict, Guterres said: "Since March of this year, seven UNIFIL peacekeepers have been killed and several others injured as the fighting has intensified."
Emphasizing the need to ensure the safety of peacekeeping personnel, Guterres stated: "These attacks must stop."
