Colombian Air Force: C-130 fleet continues operations
Bogota, March 28 (Hibya) – The Colombian Air Force announced that its C-130 fleet continues its missions following the accident.
The Colombian Air Force provided information about the operations carried out by the C-130 Hercules fleet.
After the crash of the FAC1016 aircraft on March 23, a C-130 aircraft with registration FAC-1005 was dispatched from Bogota to Puerto Leguizamo to evacuate the injured; the same aircraft carried out troop and cargo transport to San Jose del Guaviare on March 25.
It was reported that the fleet’s operations are currently continuing with two active aircraft, while the other two are undergoing scheduled maintenance.
It was emphasized that in 2025 the C-130 fleet transported more than 17,000 passengers and over 2,800 tons of cargo, while in 2026 so far more than 4,800 passengers and over 476 tons of cargo have been transported, and the following was stated:
"The C-130 Hercules team, as it has done for years, continues to bring 'Hope' to Colombians by carrying out special missions such as personnel and cargo transport, high-altitude parachute jumps, firefighting, mass medical evacuations, as well as international missions including the Antarctic Expedition."
