Cassis: Germany is a key partner for Switzerland
Bern, August 19 (Hibya) - Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis announced that he held talks on relations with Germany as well as cross-border cooperation, research, energy, infrastructure and European security.
Cassis said that Germany is an important European neighbor and a key partner for Switzerland, adding, “Our economies are closely interconnected, and together we are stronger.”
Providing information about his meeting with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Cassis said that cross-border cooperation between the two countries, as well as research, energy and infrastructure, were discussed.
Cassis said that European security and Switzerland’s 2026 Chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) were also on the agenda, adding that he was pleased to host Wadephul at Switzerland’s 2026 Ambassadors Conference.
